Hi everyone!
I am sponsoring my husband (Inland) who has 2 young children in the U.S.A. They are currently living with the mother in the U.S since we decided they would stay a year there with her, until my husband gets settled here, and then would come here for a year (temporarily) for them to see if they like Canada or not. Then we would decide where/with who they would live permanently. We have declared them as non-accompanying dependents on his application as they were not accompanying him at the time, as well as we are not sure if they are going to stay permanently with us. If they are, we will later apply for PR for them. My concern is their visitor status and how are we to enroll them into school while they stay with us for the year.
How could we proceed with this? Do they just come in as visitors and we enroll them into a local school and then extend their visitor status after the 6 months? I saw on CIC's website that they will not need a study permit as my husband *should* have his work permit by then.
