Dear members,

I've applied for my permanent residence under the CEC. I'm an april 2013 applicant. I'm a little confused about my current situation and would appreciate if someone who has been in a similar situation or knows how to deal with it could enlighten me (even though the topic is not exactly related to CEC). I'm currently on PGWP which is due to expire on May 2014. I'm getting married on December 13th.
1. What will be best way to bring my spouse to Canada? Do you have any advice or pointers or even links which explain how you can accomplish this?
2. I will be applying for renewal of my permit through BOWP in January 2014 (exactly 4 months before expiration). Should I renew this first and then apply for TRV for my spouse? The reason being that I heard some rumors (again I'm not sure about the source) that spouse TRV will be rejected if your PGWP is not valid more than or equal to 6 months. In my case, I will have only 4 months validity when I submit my documents for spouse TRV in India. So I'm wondering about this.
3. I would like to mention that I want to bring my spouse to Canada before they make a decision on my CEC. I don't want to add her after my PR because I heard it takes about 11 months to do that and clearly I dont want deal with that situation.

Thanks in advance!

Here are my thoughts, You have two issues to deal with - adding your wife to your PR app and then bringing her over here on a TRV

First:
Adding your wife to your PR application is independent of whether she is in Canada or not. So go ahead and make the change to your application as soon as possible after your marriage.

Second:
Apply for her TRV as soon as possible after marriage. You will hear all kinds of rumors from now till then. In any case for whatever reason if your wife's Visa is refused, You can reapply once you get your BWOP.

When i look at it, it does not seem like you are faced with any choices. Its not like you have to decide between PGWP and BWOP, as you will hold both at different times so just apply and hope for the best outcome.
