Hi All,

When I landed I brought more than CAD 10,000. Now i'm going to live there can I bring more than CAD 10,000? will I pay taxes If the bank draft is iisued from the UAE?

Thanks :)

It depends. If the money is income, then you have to pay income tax. Otherwise, it's tax free.

Even if its income earned by working outside Canada and not 4 a Canadian company?

What about if my family sends me money via western union every month? do they charge me any taxes when I receive the money?

Again it depends whether or not you are a tax resident. If are non resident for tax purposes, your income derived from outside Canada, will not be taxed.

I think there is no taxes

I was looking for a similar topic and thanks for discussing it....

I am scheduled to do my landing in a few months. I will be returning as I have other work related matters to finalize before a permanent move. So I'm planing to dispose of all my assets and take all funds on a following visit. My main concern is whether this money would be taxed on any other visits done post landing?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
