Bringing jewelry to Canada

We are going to do landing in Canada (and bring our household) in three weeks. I have some jewelry (nothing expensive - mostly silver), and I read that I have to take pictures of the jewelry (may be even appraisal) for the customs. I don't think that my jewelry needs any appraisal. Did anyone had an experience with bringing silver jewelry to Canada when immigrating?

Thanks
Olga

Last time when we bring our jewelry and other household goods at POE, the customs didn't even bother to look at the pictures of the jewelries, B4 form and our prepared list of goods. I think they either check randomly or some officers doesn't do their jobs.

Only jewelry of value requires a photo and appraisal.

Pictures can be very helpful if you need to make an insurance claim.
FWIW I also took pictures of non jewellery items that are valuable.

How much does the jewelry have to be worth before you have to have it appraised and photos taken?
There are no minimum how much the jewelry was worth, but you shall provide proof that you have been using and is not brand new.

Thanks for your response. All this stuff is family jewelry and it has been around for decades. It just gets re-purposed as styles change.
