Hi all.

My IEC expired November 7th, luckily same day my bridging visa was approved. Hurrah. However I stopped working as I kind of assumed my SIN expired and therefore working on it would be illegal asnits not valid, and I know I would need the physical permit to renew the SIN. However it's been almost three weeks and I haven't received it yet in the post and my work are getting angsty. I know the SIN number won't change, so what are peoples thoughts on my situation here? Is it at my employers discretion if I want to go back to work? Because I have a valid work permit, I just don't have it physically in front of me as for whatever reason it hasn't been delivered yet...

Thanks in advance

IEC and the Bridging visa gives you a right to work? If so, you didn't have to stop working, you would be under implied status as long as you applied before IEC expired. You can go back to work now that you have a confirmation that your visa is approved.

Hi

You can work. It is not illegal to work on your SIN after expiry because you have valid status.
