Bridging Open Work Permit - IMM 5802 - Work Permit about to Expire. Please Help

Hello Everyone

Please help.

BC Pnp nomination received in February.
Restriction on Employment on PNP letter: No
(does this mean that I can apply for an open work permit? or is it employer specific as I am nominated under PNP with the help of my employer?)

Applied for PR: 1st March
AOR: not received yet
Post Graduate Work Permit: expiring June 1st

Trying to apply for a bridging open work permit but I'm a bit confused with the new Employer compliance and fee form for employers (IMM 5802 - for workers exempt from LMIA)
Does my employer need to fill out this form?
Can I apply for an open bridging work permit or am I employer specific?


I have called numerous times to CIC and I am getting multiple answers. Please can someone help me.

Even I have a similar case. I applied for an open work permit two weeks ago based on my Nomination certificate and letter that i got from PNP. That letter is the initial letter that i got when PNP was issued to me, and they didnt issue any other letter as a supporting document and said that i can apply for Open work permit based on that. I filed a paper based application because I dont have AOR. Did i do the right thing?. What if my PNP certificate expires before they start processing my application for open work permit, i dont even have AOR yet?. How long would it take to get the work permit roughly?. Please reply asap.

Did your PNP nomination say that you can do an Open work permit? I went to the PNP office and they said to me that you can only apply for a closed work permit after your nomination as you are now "tied" to your employer. You also need a support letter from the PNP office.
