Hello everyone,

I currently hold a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) that expires early next month I work full time as a Software Developer. I've applied for the Permanent Residency (PR) through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and my application is still being processed (initial process).

My understanding is that to bridge my PGWP, I simply have to apply for a Bridging work permit online.

The following question asks if I have an LMIA, for which if I answer 'no' I become ineligible and the application as closed. I have to select 'yes' to have the application proceed.
Eventually when I arrive at the document upload page, I am required to upload proof of my LMIA approval and of my LMIA-approved job offer. This doesn't apply to me, of course, so I'm thinking the only I can do is upload my employment certificate, paystubs), existing PGWP, a copy of the PR letter stating that my application is being processed, and perhaps an explanation letter. Can I do this ???

Please help
Thanks!

I had the same issue going from an IEC work permit to PR with CEC Class. My current permit expires on August 24th and is, like yours, an open work permit, so I haven't had to get an LMIA for any of my jobs.

I ended up submitting my BOWP via mail/paper and in one of the sections I explained the purpose of my BOWP application (so I can keep working til I hear about my PR application) and I also included in the package details of where I currently work, the original job offer from last year and my new permanent contract. I still don't know if they got it or not as I've heard nothing and I've been unable to link the mail/paper application to my IRCC account I'm using for my PR application.

Problem for me now is that I have accepted another new permanent job which I will start before my current permit expires but most likely not before my BOWP is approved. I think I am going to have to use the IRCC Webform to upload my new job offer/contract as well as giving them my new address (I'm moving province for the job - to Saskatchewan) and explaining my whole situation again start to finish.

I think what you've suggested for yourself is the most decent thing you can do unless you want to risk submitting it by paper. I wish I had done what you're suggesting as I feel like it's a lot easier for them to review your case and contact you, you won't get stuck waiting for snail mail like me.
