BOWP SIN number

Hi, I have just realised that when I got my BOWP I never renewed my SIN number, I was under the impression that you have the same one (just like implied status) and you don't need to do anything. How serious is this? Is it just a matter of getting them to change the date of my SIN number or is it more serious? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
P.S I have my COPR already

1. If you have your COPR, it doesn't matter. When you "land" just go to Service Canada and get a new regular SIN
