My work permit expiring soon, I am planning to apply for paper work permit. If I get invitation to apply for pr, while I am on implied status, then am I eligible to apply for BOWP or not ?

If you get PR you won't need a BOWP.

Unfortunately, no. One of the requirements for the BOWP is that you have a valid (not expired) work permit at the time of application.

What's the point in applying for BOWP if you're going to apply for another work permit? If all you want is to submit incomplete application (i.e. without LMIA) to get 'implied status', be warned that you won't get implied status this way anymore.

I got provincial nomination. My work permit is expiring soon, and I want to apply for work permit with LMIA exemption. My employer needs

• Letter from the provincial government (with a certificate number) confirming that you were nominated for permanent residence by the province,
• Statement from the province that it has determined that all factors required for the issuance of a work permit as per its agreement with Canada have been met

Has anyone applied for work permit under LMIA exemption? I only received the nomination on my EE profile, Do I receive a package/letter with confirmation number?

I have sent my questions to Ontario province, but time matters for me now. Any information is much appreciated.

Yes. They will send you Actual Nomination Letter via Mail. I believe you have to use that to apply for open work permit. Just upload your letter in documents section if you apply online.

No, You Cannot work if your application is rejected and your wp is expired. Were you a PNP candidate? What was the reason for rejection?

There are two types of PNP nominations. The new type is for EE. The old type is for traditional (paper-based) processing, which continues to exist alongside the EE-type nominations.

I don't know if this is true for all provinces, but for Ontario - work permits are only supported for the PNP streams that require a job offer - which does not include the Human Capital Priorities stream. if you get the EE PNP, you are expected to use the BOWP process.

No, having a PR application in process does not authorize you to work in Canada.
