BOWP Extension

Hi,
I was issued BOWP for 4 months duration due to my passport expiry. Now i have renewed my passport and can apply for an extension to 1 year. My question is, should i apply as a separate application and again pay $155 for it, or can i request CIC to reconsider the original BOWP application again and provide 1 year based on that application?

I know it is a silly question but just want to get ideas from experienced folks here and trying to save those $155

Unfortunately, you will have to pay that fees again

I had gone through the same for my PGWP, gave me or 8 months, then had to send in another application to get it for the remaining 28 months.
