BOWP eligibility question

Hi all,

My Intra-company transfer restricted to my company work permit is valid until August 23rd 2014.

However my contract with the company I was deployed as a consultant ends on March 31st 2014, post that my employer would possibly send me back to my home country.

Also,I applied my PR in May 2014, got the AOR and did my medical.

My question: I did the online eligibility test mentioning all the details including date of WP expiry and it says I pass the eligibility even though my WP doesn't expire for another 6 months.

Does this mean I can still apply for an Open WP, although the eligibility condition says 4 months?

Has anyone applied before 4 months and what response did they get?

Also as an ICT WP holder I didn't go through any LMO, does that effect my application?
Any help would really appreciated.

Hi Eshan,

Do not rely on the online eligibility. You are most certainly not eligible for BOWP.

Also since you have done your MR, it's just the matter of couple weeks / months to become PR. I suggest that you wait for you PR to get through.

Also bare in mind that your company can not send you home as long as you have legal working visa in this country.

Hi Esan,

You can apply for BOWP. I had the same situation and I got my BOWP. that helped me to switch the company. though your work permit is valid untill august but if you have to quit the company then you can't work for any other company untill you have PR or BOWP.
