Booking 2 places to stay for 14 day quarantine plan. Is this allowed?

I read in this forum that there are people who actually booked 2 places for their 14 day quarantine plan when they arrive in Canada.
Example: 2 days in the first place, the remaining 12 days in another place.

Because they are already vaccinated, likely they will be exempt from quarantine. Once they get exempted, they can cancel both stays, but any losses they might get for cancellation are minimized, since any penalties they might incur mostly will be from the 1st day.

But I want to know is, are you allowed to do that? Has anybody actually entered Canada with booking 2 stays for your quarantine plan?

Why would you not be able to? Check the IRCC website and read through all the requirements.

I've checked it. Many times in fact.
It only says you need to have a quarantine plan to stay for 14 days.
It does not mention anything about staying at a second or third place.

But I want to be sure about this.

I did not manage to actually find a 100% definitive answer to that. But, I kind of figured the thing out for myself.

Initially I thought the booking of 2 places was possible. After all, the Canadian authorities had requested before this that all visitors to have a 3 day stay at their approved hotels, and then you can move to another place for the remaining 11 days of your quarantine.

However, this does not seem to be the case now.

It is mandatory for visitors to input their quarantine location in the Arrive Can app before they make their trip to Canada. The app only allows you to enter ONE location as your quarantine place. So that more or less means you cannot book 2 places for your quarantine plan.

Unless you make the 2 bookings for the exact same location, maybe with a hotel, that might work.

If you are required to have a true quarantine plan moving to another location after 2 days would be breaking your quarantine. Would suggest you have a few options available that you can book from the airport if you are for some reason required to quarantine. Would right up your quarantine plan knowing that there is last minute availability.

You can only have one at approved hotel while waiting your test results, and the other one at your final location if tested negative.

That is expired information. The 1st 3 days hotel quarantine is no longer required.

You have to declare your quarantine plan / location via the Arrive Can app BEFORE your departure to Canada.
You are not given the luxury to only do your planning / declaration on the day of your flight, or when you arrive in Canada.

I didnt say you are not required to declare on ArriveCAN app or given luxury to do your own plan… I was responding to the question raised about two parallel quarantine/self isolation plans
