Hello all!
This is an extremely dumb question, but I have to ask it nevertheless.
The Sponsorship guide tells you

"You should fill in all spaces on immigration application forms. If a question does not apply, write “not applicable” or “N/A” in the space. That shows you have read and filled out the form fully. If you are applying online and the form does not allow you to input “N/A,” leave the space blank."

Now, the question I have is for forms like IMM5490
Let's take, for example, Question 3:
3) Did anyone (individual or organization) introduce you to your sponsor?
The answer is NO (only fill in fields -additional details - if yes)
Do I fill out the other fields on the question as N/A, or leave them blank?

What about question 19 (IMM5490)?
If you answer YES, It states that am to go directly to question 24
What about Questions 20, 21,22,23? Do I put "N/A" for any of these? (none of these apply, because I am sponsoring my wife, not a common-law spouse)

Could anyone clarify where I would put N/A?
Please, any help would be extremely appreciated.

I really don't want to have my application returned and waste time because of an incomplete field.
Thank you kindly!

I can't remember exactly what I did, but in the case where it says put N/A if no, put N/A and completely skip the parts where you should fill in if 'yes'. If you're doing it online it wont let you put anything in there anyway. You don't need to put N/A if you wrote N/A for No.

For question 19 if you've answered YES, skip the rest of the questions, like the instructions state. You don't have to put N/A, especially if the online form automatically skips it. I mean, if you do put N/A it won't do anything to your application as the VO will probably skip those questions anyway when they see the answer Yes to #19

In the end, if you're unsure and don't feel safe leaving it blank and the answer is Not Applicable, just write it. It won't hurt and it might make you feel better.

I think the form automatically greys out those areas when you select yes/no. So if the application greys out then you dont need to write n/a. But write n/a on questions that dont grey out. We actually got a letter asking us to resubmitt and write out " i did not perform any military service" in the section that asks about military service, because we had left it blank by mistake.

They are pretty picky, so feel free to write n/a in every single section that does not apply.
