Hi All,

i just want check whether birth certificate for dependent applicant is required for express entry. Actually i am dependent applicant with my wife and i do not have my birth certificate and i donot know whether it will be available in my city municipal corporation as it is now 31 years old record. Any one know the alternative if it is required. Please let me know.

Copy of birth certificate or other equivalent document
Purpose
To prove the dependent children’s relationship to the parents

Document requirements

• This document is required only if the applicant identifies dependent children.
• The document must be one of the following:
  • birth certificate;
  • equivalent document from the birth country; or
  • letter of explanation (where no birth certificate is available in the country).

Individuals who must submit this documentation

• All the dependent children, including non-accompanying

Birth certificate is not required for you or your wife. You will need a marriage certificate.

If you apply through PNP, then you will need Birth certificates of all applicants.
If you apply through EE, then no need. Only children's birth certificate is required.
