Birth Certificate & Passport- Place of Birth Spelling Mistake

Hi,

I noticed that the birth certificate has my place of birth as SATTUR and my passport has SATHTHUR as place of birth. If I submit this documents will there be any problem because of this spelling mistake. will there be a significant delay in processing if I submit the birth certificate as it is now?

What can i do?

No it won't.
Attach a covering with your CEC application explaining that it is same place spelled differently. And interestingly both are correct.
Much like Gujarat - Gujrath, Orissa - Odisha.

I agree with Andy. If both spellings are correct, attach a letter and explain it.
