I have a copy of my birth certificate in its original language with a copy of the legal translation into French. Will this be sufficient for my OINP application? I don't have the originals anymore unfortunately.

You will be needing both the document, i.e. original birth certificate and its translated copy.

Try to get the copy of the original attested/ notarized maybe?
They usually stamp a copy with all the stamps from embassy/ consulates/ other authorities etc... and attach it with the translated versions..

Thanks, both! I asked my parents to search the entire house and luckily my mum managed to find the original (previously told me it was lost!). The embassy just translated and certified it for me :) So all should be fine now. Phew.
