My husband was living in Canada for 12 years before he was deported back to Guyana in 2013 (denied refugee status). At his time of Refugee Sataus while he living here in Canada he was asked to submit his a photo copy of birth certification, so he did that immediately and sent it to his representing lawyer who submitted to immigration. His mother who was visiting Guyana at that time DHL it to him in Canada (now deceased)

Now this birth certificate indicating his true date of birth (" the only date of bith my husband knew of all the days of his 50th life") which is Dec 20, 1964 was submitted to immigration at the time of his Refugee Claimants and this is what immigration has on records for the past 12 years of his residents in Canada until now.........

After my husband was deported back he needed to obtain a orginial copy of his birth certification in order to get a new passport. After going in to the Registra General office in Guyana to get his birth certificate he then finds out by surprise and shock that the birthday he only knew of all the dates of his life appears to be incorrect And his birthdate is registered in the records as Dec 17th, 1964 as appose to Dec 20th, 1964 ....and they can't and will not issue a date of birth that is not registered ...ok now this is the part I started freaking out about because now we have a discrepancy with his date of birth especially knowing the fact that it's totally different from current immigration records which will have the same UCI number OMG is all I kept saying !!!!

So me the sponsored had to put on my thinking cap to see what can be done immediately.

Here is what we did and all the necessary actions and steps taken.

1) I first had my husband go back to the hospital where he was born to obtain any records pertaining to his actual date of birth - UNSUCCESSFUL ( 1964 is far gone he was told no records kept at the hospital) they re-directed him back to the Registration General's Office of Guyana.

2) After speaking with the supervisor at the Registra General's Office they provided him with a letter. From the department of birth and registration stating a error has occurred in his records attached with a true orginal copy of his birth certification signed, dated and sealed.

3) My husband wrote a letter to immigration explaining what has happened and he was not aware of the discrepancies until he was deported back to Guyana after trying to obtain a passport and indicated all attempts made in the investigating of his date of birth/birth certification.

4) had my husband seek a lawyer who directed him to a JP who prepared and provided him with a affidavit - true written statement containing all the facts where he was sworn in before an authorized commissioner. This document was signed , stamped and obtained a gold seal.

So really my question is how will they do a police check for when he lived in Canada if now he has a different date of birth from what they have on his previous immigration records ????? I'm assuming they have to do RCMP check (because he lived in Canada). ?????

Will they do it based on his finger prints from the police report we submitted with his application for PR, or will they base it off his incorrect Date of Birth at the time of residence of Canada?????

Just worried about all this - and we did everything right to explain and provided documents supporting this crazy issue

Any advise/feedback would be appreciated - application was send Oct 14/15

I also called CIC and ask if it will be a problem.

Thank you all

You are really over stressing about this. Birth certificate/registration issues are fairly common from undeveloped countries, so CIC is not going to have an issue with it. They may request fingerprints for the RCMP check or they may just run checks on both DOBs; again, nothing to stress about.

Thanks Canuck in UK ........ lol - I was actually hoping you would reply to me eventually.

Kinda feel better too, and yes I know CIC is fully aware of these discrepencies from undeveloped countries.

When my wife was filling out the form for her family information, her mother's birthday was different than the provided documentation because her mother sometimes used a lunar calendar birthday and sometimes her solar calendar birthday (in asia, the lunar calendar is still used sometimes). We attached a note explaining the discrepancy. Granted this was for her mother so it less important than if it was my wife, but it is more evidence that if you have a good explanation, it will be fine.

Thank you keesio

I am hoping we would be fine too, like you mentioned about submitting evidence and explaining the situation, this we did..... We provided plenty of proof and praying all is good.

Thanks again
