Dear Seniors,

I have an issue with my birth certificate.

My Mothers name is printed as : Vasanthamani

and in my passport my mother's name is given as :Vasantha

Would it be a problem when submitting my docs (birth certificate to CIC) ?
Please help me.

Yes it is the serious issue before sending your application to CIC try to change or re issue your Birth certificate. As per my opinion dont submit your birth certificate, submitte your ssc certificate as proof of birth (when required or asked).

But SSC certificate does not have Parents name and Place of birth.

Whether CIC accept this as proof ? Could you please clarify

Your SSC will have only your father's name ..... I guess......
But , you can write an explanation regarding this, explaining its a printing mistake.....
Better , If you can provide other proofs such as ration card..... UCID card..... Etc as supporting docs..... Where your mother name is correctly printed....
Cheers :)

As I enquired, it is not possible to get a Birth Certificate with change in Name (mother Name) , instead we have to attach a name change certificate

Thank you joe and bombardier,
But in ration card the details are in our native language. So unable to submit it.
in my case, my name is spelled differently in birth certificate and all other details had been entered correctly.
is a notary affidavit enough for name change?
