So my kid was born in Ontario this past September. I registered him the next day and requested a birth certificate, which took forever to get processed. It was finally processed a day before Canada Post went on strike, so it got stock and haven't received it yet.
I was planning to cross the border on the first week of January to visit some family (Buffalo). I know he only needs a birth certificate to cross the border, but I'm not sure if we'll get it on time in the mail.
I read that there's a way to go to an office in Toronto and request a copy, but have to provide a proof of urgency and I don't believe my case would qualify as urgent.
Any ideas on how to get his birth certificate?
