Hi,
I'm sponsoring my wife to become a PR. I've sent the application and it was returned.
On the original Checklist document (IMM 5533), they marked the items they considered missing/incomplete/incorrect.
They marked just the following items exactly like this:
* Birth certificates or baptismal certificates for yourself and all family members, whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not.
* If you (the principal applicant) are married to your sponsor, provide your marriage certificate/registration. A record of solemnization or marriage license is not acceptable.
We provided them both of the documents:
My wife (applicant) birth certificate copy + certified translation of the document
Our marriage certificate/registration copy + certified translation of the document
I believe our mistake is that we just provided them the regular copies of these documents, and not a certified copy of the original document. Is it correct? (all documents were issued in Brazil).
Should we send my (sponsor) birth certificate as well? I'm asking this because they didn't mark the full sentence, just the part regarding to the applicant.
Also, for the Passport and National Identity Card we just send regular copies and certified translations, but they didn't complain about it.
Thanks.
