Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if the 6-month processing time CIC is theoretically taking to complete applications starts counting only after you provide the biometrics? Or does the processing start independently? About to apply for FSW but all VACs in my coutry are closed, I'm afraid it will delay my process...

They’re processing applications even without biometrics. The 6-month timeline is just an average. Based on last years stats, 80% of FSW applications were completed in 9 months. With Covid, the 6 month timeline is not even possible anymore.

Thank you for your answer! Even for who's outside Canada? I thought only ppl inside Canada didn't need to provide the biometrics for now in order to continue the processing... And didn't know it was taking so long to complete the FSW applications :(

The biometric exemption were only those for inland temporary resident applicants. Inland PR applicants are still required to provide bio. Yes, they’re processing applications whether you’re inland or Outland.
I should’ve been clear, the 9 months for FSW is AVERAGE for 80% of the applicants so some may get it earlier or later. :) you can google immitracker to get a sense of which AORs are getting PPR nowadays.

apply but be prepared for a long wait. There are still 2019 AOR (Oct - Dec) people whose applications are already approved (based on their GCMS notes) but still waiting their PPRs as VACs in their country are yet to re-open.
