Hello,

Does anyone know when visitor visa applicants receive the letter requesting biometrics after submitting an application online? Once they receive the letter, do they get 30 days to submit biometrics or is there no timeline? Is it possible to get extension to submit biometrics if needed?

It has been varied as of late. Some people get it a day or two later, others a week or so. You typically have 30 days. You can request an extension but it will not always be granted.

I heard that online visitor visa applications are not checked by visa officers. They are checked by computer software alone and decision is also made by computer system by using criteria which is set by IRCC. Is this true? I’m wondering how can artificial intelligence make decision on a file which is completely based on analysis of every individual’s situation.
