Apologies to anyone if this has been asked before.

After doing some research for a friend of mine, I noticed that biometrics are required for anyone who applies for PR (Americans are exempt). How does one get biometrics done from within Canada if biometrics are done outside Canada. Biometrics are not allowed to be done at POE for PR purposes either. Please enlightened me on how to get this done for those who applied for Inland PR.

Much appreciated in advanced.

The CIC page "Do I need to give biometrics?" has some answers - did you check there? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/biometrics.asp +

If you apply for permanent residence and are in Canada, you may qualify for an exemption from having to give your biometrics. Find out more in the relevant application guide.
The guide (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5525-basic-guide-sponsor-your-spouse-partner-child.html) then says this:

Biometric (fingerprints and photo) requirements
You and your family members may need to appear in person to have their fingerprints and photograph (biometric information) taken at a biometric collection service point.

Canadian citizens and existing permanent residents of Canada are exempt from giving biometrics.

If you are applying as a member of the family class and are legally in Canada when you apply, you are currently exempt from giving biometrics. Your accompanying overseas dependents may need to give their biometrics.

Note: If you are physically present in Canada and choose to have your application as a Spouse or Common Law Partner processed overseas, you are not exempt from the biometric requirement.
Did that come up in your research?

I totally missed that part of the guide for inland PR. Thanks for pointing it out. I read the guide file over and over and still missed it.

Thank you.
