Biometrics for 13 years old dependent child

Hi everybody!

I'm sponsoring my wife and her daughter. IRCC has sent me a refund of 85$, which is exactly half of the amount I paid for the biometrics. I understand that the refund is a the dependent child, who is 13 years old (on the date the application is received by IRCC) and she is not required to provide her biometrics. However, she'll turn 14 years old in July 2021, and most probably the application will not be finalized by this date. Do you think she will still be required to provide her biometrics later, by the end of the application process?

Thanks!

Doubt it, they don't do this for police clearance certificates, for example (when turning 18).

Not worth worrying about it anyway, if they need it, they'll ask.

That's not exactly true :) There is no places to give biometrics in our country, she'll need to travel. So, she'd like to do that only once, not twice.

Thanks for the answer anyway :)

Ah. Sorry, all I can say I was worried about this for police certificates for kids turning turning the process, but wasn't needed.

Got it, thank you :) I'm pretty sure I won't need it either. Just wanted to make sure.
Unfortunately you have to have the request from IRCC to get the BIO done, so even as it has been said above that you probably won't have to, you can't pro-actively try to get it done.
