Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me understand this:
You cannot give your biometrics at a Canadian port of entry (POE) unless you meet these 2 requirements:
  • you’re eligible to apply for a study permit or work permit at a POE
  • you start and finish your application at the POE
  • Most applicants are not eligible to give biometrics at a POE.
  • Make sure you’re eligible before you go.

My previous work permit and visa expired recently, I submitted applications both a PR via EE and BOWP in April and I've been waiting for Service Canada to reopen ever since.
It's a bit of a pressing issue, I need my BOWP to be valid ASAP and I was wondering if it was risky to go through the Airport to give my biometrics.
I can't find what they mean by eligibility. If I have two letters for the Biometrics collection does that mean I'm eligible?

Many thanks in advance
PM

You can't go the airport or any POE for biometrics. If you applied for your BOWP before your previous work permit expired then you are on implied status and free to continue working while you wait for a decision. I apologise, but I don't see the urgency. What have I missed?
