Bio Data request before Passport Request? Visa-Required Country

Hi all,

I have a question, I have applied in July 2014, and a week ago received a bio data page request from the VO. I do require a visa to enter Canada and so I am not sure why they asked for a copy of my bio data and not my passport? My application is been processed by Bucharest VO. I am currently in Canada on a student visa.

I know some have waited longer to reach to this point, but thinking about it has been very exhausting "why they havent asked for my passport already?". I cannot even concentrate on my studies.

1, I suggest that you do what was requested. The processing time posted for 80% of the applications as Bucharest is 18 months. Your application has been in process for less than a year.

Have done that but I thought there is something wrong apparently they do ask for the bio data before they request for the passport. I want them to send for my passport waiting is killing me.

I received the same request from bucharest and sent them the bio data pages, and after around 6 weeks i received passport request.
No need to worry .

a questio for you rorita ? do they ask for bio page from everybody before ppr or its not a trend ? as i didnt hear they ask everybody this request unless your passport is almost expired?

Im not sure if its trend, but in my case i changed my passport before medical so i updated the vo when i sent the mr and rprf with a copy of myupdated passport, then after aroubd ten days they request biodata for me and my family members and after six weeks got ppr

Regarding your question, I think the VO ask for bio data if:
1- The Visa and COPR will be issued from another visa office (other than the one that processed the application).
2- If you hold a passport from a visa-exempted country and you dont need to submit your passport, only a copy from it.

Why I am saying that is because while going through the forum I have ran into someone with a similar situation and he posted a detailed email from CIC as to why he needs to submit his bio-data sheet first (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/ontario-fsw-pilot-t99261.3180.html). His VO was London and the visa is to be issued from Riyadh VO.
Rorita13's VO is Bucharest but the visa will be issued from Beirut VO. I assume that they will direct me to another visa office to issue the visa. Only time will tell.
