Good, I suggest they implement these laws and FALL FLAT ON THEIR FACES. They will soon come running to India to help revive the sinking IT economy.

If they implement these laws, you won't be here to receive your Nomination / PR !

I know I am inviting trouble but in a way it is good IF IT IS IMPLEMENTED the way I would like. Consider this:

Indian IT Companies (Infy, Wipro, Satyam etc) hire college graduates on lower salaries and put them on offshore and send them to onshore after 1 or 2 years. Most of the times, these grads have no real time industry experience (Most of the Infy IT Professionals have never worked in other companies but Infosys which has the highlest level of subordination) and are quite immature. They cant even speak in English and represent a wrong picture of Indian Talent. They eventually become a matter of laughter amongst americans.

In contrast to this, people who come on H1 (through independent companies) having 8-10 years of experience struggle for the Hourly rate due to these people. What most companies fail to realise is that "if you pay peanuts, you will get monkeys".

These are my just my opinions.

This article is almost a month old. Do we have any recent updates? Also please note that H1B quota is not yet exhausted. Lastly, I know at least 10 people who came to US on H1B (through independent consultants) with less than 1 year experience or completed masters in US and shifted to H1B (with zero experience and showed masters degree as experience). So a house cleaning was due to avoid misuse of this "Highly Skilled Workers Program".

But since this forum is for Canada Immigration: I would assume, in long term, this US house cleaning of H1B applicants, would help Canada in long term as they would get highly skilled people (not sure about getting jobs though).

Alternative, with new May 19th list of AINP SRS H1B program, Canada Govt is smartly playing "Age of Empires" and building cities on need basis.

(I have nothing against anyone with the above response. Let the questions/ideas/thoughts flow........ We all are learning everyday!!!)

I completely agree with you, but when they do house keeping (as you mentioned) its not going to just affect folks with fake experience like you said 0-1 yr experience .. but everyone (including ones who have genuine experience)

Just an FYI .. Its not a month old article, please see the date in the links.. I know there have been similar articles a month back.. but the response from Premji came just recent

Okay guys just wanted to clear one thing, people who have studied in US haven't faked their experience with Masters Degree. The law for H1b is clear, if you have studied in the US you can get an H1b visa with 0 experience. Normally those students have to show their research projects and internships if any.

Some anti fraud provisions are long due I think.

However I think part of the intent is to just kill the IT consulting industry (primarily Indian companies) that depend on the H1B visa.

Some of the provisions would make it impossible for them to do business. Like 50% of employees have to be US citizens. Or that employees cannot be placed at client locations unless a waiver is received. This wont be granted unless it can be show that the employee will be primarily directed by the Employer and not the client etc.

I glad that I got my AINP nomination and probably will get a Canadian PR before my H1B comes for extension:)
