Hi,

I am from India. My wife works in Canada. SHe went to canad in February 2016 I applied for my SOWP on March 20th. Got my refusal recently mentioning lack of authenticity of documents,,

I also want to mention that I had applied for visitors visa in december 2015 after my wedding. My wedding was in November 2016. Unfortunately, a very big mistake happened. I put single as an option on the visitors visa. I sent in all wedding certificates for applying.. Now, I am worried they refused my application because I stated as single on the application rather than stating married.

What do i do? I know it is a big mistake.. I am worried.. Please help..

Well obviously with this kind of "mistakes", you pay the price and its hard to convince an already doubtful officer.

But when you reapply, you get a different officer to review your application.

One way is to get gcms notes first to see if they actually refused for the SINGLE mistake or they simply don't believe some of the docs you submitted is fake.

Rather than assuming get the core reason, submit a new application, with a cover letter explaining what happened and address the mistake with proof - referring it in the cover letter and do it precisely. Do not write 10 page letter - they just won't reach it.

One page max.

They always see your history and form a complete view based upon that.

First applying for visitor based upon the spouse is already plain wrong - a dependent spouse doesn't intend visiting him/her for a short while. They intend to live together for as long as they are there.

So it can be seen as you not knowing that you should have applied for SOWP but made a mistake and applied for visitor first time.

But it can also been seen as too desperate to apply - irrespective of the type of application and just wanting to get to Canada.

The latter scenario is not good for you since it shows weak ties.

All of this is an officer's decision based upon seeing the profile image they form given the docs you supplied.

If your application convinces them of the former steps I wrote above, you could get it, there are no hard and fast rules.

Didn't you find that in my first reply?

Since you have already submitted a SOWP you obviously cannot do any thing right now except may be sending additional info through case specific inquiry (if you think you missed something in the application).

If you get a refusal, get gcms notes and they address issues and reapply.

Nothing you have said is concrete. All of those are your assumptions - "might have been refused because of single or may be because of TRV", immigration doesn't work on hit and trials.

You are welcome. Roughly 31 days from the date you submitted the request. Some times they come a week or so early, and at other times they might be delayed by a week max.

But those are generated around a week to 10 days from the date you submitted request.
