bf work permit expires in sept, what to do? HELP

Hello all,

So as the title says my Bf's pgwp expires at the end of sept. what can he do to remain in Canada?

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

EDIT: sorry about the lack of info but he came to Canada in 2014 and completed a post graduate certificate program at a college. afterwards he applied for the (pgwp) and is valid for only one year and expires in sept. Right now he has no full time job and is employed part time. His previous job was a contract position which expired so things are looking very bleak right now.

Hard to say since you've provided no information about him.

Most obvious option would be to obtain a full time job offer and approved LMIA so that he can apply for a closed work permit.

You're totally right. from my understanding there is no way to find an employer willingly to compete the LMIA process, you just have to apply, ask and hope that they are willingly to do that?

The PGWP is not extendable, so his only option would be to get an LMIA approved job, and a closed work permit based on that.

Depending on your status (PR, Canadian citizen), you could sponsor him, as common-law, providing you meet the eligibility requirements.

If you are TFW as well, and have the ability to apply for PR by then, that could also be an option for him, again based on common-law.

Yes - that's right. It will need to be a full time job.
