Hi, here is my situation. I'm an international student who just graduated with B.S in Chemistry in United States. I have OPT which let me get a status to be eligible getting a job in the U.S, but as you know it is really hard to get a job in the states as an international student. Even if I will get a job, it is not guaranteed for me to get a H-1 Visa and green card. So I decided to look into immigration to Canada. So it seems like there are two options for me to get working visa. First, Getting a master degree in Canada and taking an advantage of Post Graduation Working Visa (or two years college?). Second, going to Canada with working holiday visa and finding a job (seems like very limited chance). Please comment any opinions.

Where are you from originally?

Do you have at least one year of full time paid and skilled work experience?

I'm from South Korea, and I only had 3 month internship as a lab assistant. It seems like it is not considered as an work experience in EE point system.

Without at least one year of full time experience - you don't qualify.

Again, which country are you from?

OK - in that case the working holiday visa / IEC route has limitations. First of all, you must be living in South Korea to apply. You would have to return home and wouldn't be able to apply from the US. Secondly, it only gets you a one time 12 month work permit. It will most likely be impossible to get a year of skilled work experience in this time.

If you have the money, coming to Canada on a study permit to take a Masters program is most likely the best bet. However you may be too late for a January start.
