best way to go canada

hi everyone,,

i have a canadian bf and i am a pilipina and were engaged here in the philippines but we decided to get married in canada... what should i do to go canada? should i go for visiting visa? i have work here at one of the small company here in butuan city....

can anyone give me some advice regarding this matter?

Yes - you will have to apply for a visitor visa if you want to come to Canada and get married here.

Unfortunately there's a pretty high chance your visitor visa will be refused. If that happens, your BF will have to travel to the Philippines to get married there and then sponsor you for PR once you have married. Once your PR application has been approved, you will be able to come to Canada.

hi, thank you for your reply... so if were going to get married here and then i would apply for PR. is it possible for me to get a visitor visa while waiting for my PR permit? And how long it would take to process my PR application?

It's unlikely you will be approved for a visitor visa after you are married and while you are waiting for your PR visa. However you can always try and see what happens.
