Hello Everyone.

I new and looking for options of advice. I'm getting married in April in Jamaica.
I'm going to file a PR sponsorship for my wife once we are married. I would also like her to be able to get a TRV while we wait out this process.
I know being in this type of relationship that separation can't be avoided. I'm looking at any way I can shorten it.
On the Minister for immigration website there is a mandate letter from the Supreme Leader JT that says

  • Work to strengthen family reunification by introducing electronic applications for family reunification and implementing a program to issue temporary resident status to spouses and children abroad while they wait for the processing of their permanent residency application.

If someone can offer any suggestions on the best way to move forward I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks in Advance.
Pete

Your wife should apply for a TRV through the new portal. Discussions on this topic are in the Visitors section of the forum.

In terms of the announcement from JT, that's all we have so far. The actual program to do this hasn't been rolled out yet and so won't help you at this time.
