I am in a dilemma right now. I have both a Student visa ( Expired on 31 of July 2024) and a Visitor Visa (Expired on 31 of December 2024)
I have applied for a study permit extension back in May 2024 before my student visa was expired. However, I just got a decline letter today due to the fact that I was not complied with my study permit (took unauthorized leave from school).
1. Should I restore my status as a student and apply for a new study permit or
2. Apply for a restoration and a visitor record?
I am not certain if the latter is allowable since I initially entered Canada on a Student Visa. Additional information is that I am also married to a Canadian citizen and waiting for my spousal sponsorship application to be processed. I am uncertain if this will increase or decrease my chance of getting my visitor record approved since it might sound like I do not have a strong tie in my home country. I feel quite lost right now...
Please give me some advice what should I do in this situation
