Rascojenkins,
As long as your wife has never been arrested by immigration or any other authority, she should not have any problem with FBI. To obtain you FBI finger prints you just have to fallow the instructions on CIC website. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

Yup, I agree...
FBI does a check for criminal arrests, etc. They are not looking for INS cases... So, hurry up and get your wife's check done before they change their laws!!

Go to a Police station and have them do the finger printing and then mail it out to the FBI address provided on the CIC website...

Good luck...

In my opinion, once she is illegal in the country I would not take the risk by going to a police station to get the finger prints, she might be apprehended. Instead I would go to a private fingerprinting business.

At the police station, you are asked for your ID and which prints form (FBI or State) you want to complete...

But like I said, things can change quickly nowadays. Just don't go to a police station in Virginia, California and those states that are clamping down on illegals...

So, yes, to play it safe you might as well go to a private firm to get the prints done. As soon as that is done, send it out to the FBI...

Did you know that your wife can sponsor you to stay in the US? I understand why you want to leave America (like sitting on the Titanic), but have you ever considered it?
