I'm moving to Vancouver with my wife (Spousal Sponsorship) and I'll hold Permanent Residence status under that immigration scheme. I have a job in the UK as an employee, and my company wishes to continue my employment after I move. I understand to do that I must become self-employed in Canada then I can issue invoices as a contractor to my employer in order to receive my salary. Is this correct? What are the steps I need to perform in order to achieve this? I understand I am able to register as self-employed once I have my SIN, but I'm not clear on the process. Any advice would be welcomed!
