Hello,

After my study permit, I had applied for a PGWP in 2022 a day after it expired, which lapsed my maintained status and I have therefore had to also get a bridging study permit between the expiry of my study permit. I paid the restoration fee for it and uploaded it with the study permit extension application.

On October 26, on my PGWP application I got a letter saying that I had to upload the receipt for the status restoration by nov 2, but I read it two weeks after that and never uploaded it, or at least the system says I haven't, because on October 29 I got a letter saying that the final decision has been made and I was issued the work permit.

However, Regarding the bridging study permit, under a different application number, I have a letter from IRCC from October 28, saying that the study permit extension has been approved and a document will be mailed to me. I never got that document.

I spoke with an IRCC officer on the phone, who told me that even if I was out of status between may 31 to late October, the bridging study permit was issued for October 28 to January 2023, the dates that my work permit has already been approved and active, and that it does not backdate to the time that I was out of status, even though it was called bridging and status restoration.

The officer has told me that on their end all my applications are closed and look up to date, with nothing outstanding to be dealt with. She told me to when I apply for my PR, to include a page outlining this experience of being out of status and having to pay for restoration fee. I wonder if that makes sense, and if there is anything else I should include. I am worried this would severely impact my application? Even though I had already wrote a letter when I applied for this PGWP in 2022.
Does anyone have any advice or have been in a similar situation? Any insight would be welcome, please!
