Hi, can anyone help me here. I am a cashier here in BC for a year, my employer will apply me for PNP next month, my problem is I didn't meet the Income treshold requirement (which my employer says that it's just a guide and not exactly a requirement). You do think Income is a major factor in approving the PNP application. By the way I fall under the family of 3 category.

Moreover, is it really a must to have a 2 years experience outside canada to be qualified also for PNP. All my previous works were in office and I only have 6 months experience as a cashier (it was during my college days). But I've worked in a bank for 6months also. Do you think I'll be qualified?

i think now they are pretty strict about Income , because you are family of three so your income could be a problem. Did you apply under different stream as well? then may b you can try it. The other way is that if your employer is willing to increase your wage then you ill b eligible for it.

That's my problem, she don't want to give a raise :(

How about the experience? Is it necessary.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but BC PNP will not approve your application if you fall under the LICO. Its not just a guide.
If you have a partner who has a work permit and job offer then the pnp will consider your combined income. Are you just a cashier? Or would you fall under noc 6711, Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations???? Cashier (noc 6611) is not eligible under any of the BC PNP steams unless you live in the North East region :(

Yes I'm here in the northeast region. I'm very frustrated and disappointed after they revised the Income treshold just last Oct coz before the revision my income meets the requirement :( how about the experience, do I need to have 2years cashier experience before applying for PNP? What I've known is if you stayed and worked with the same employer for atleast 9months you'll be able to apply for PNP?

Your fine with the work experience you have buddy, as long as you have worked 9 months full time with the employer. The BC PNP are quite flexible with their selection criteria in terms of the skills you need etc etc and will look at each case individually. They will absolutely not approve your application if you earn under the LICO though. For the semi skilled workers stream earning below the LICO accounts for the highest percentage of refused PNP applications. If your employer won't pay more then you really need to start looking at other employment in order to stay

Good luck
