See below email. I went through this with them this week.
Hello,
1) Your employer will have to have the job offer available to you at the time we make a decision and you are nominated by our program. If you no longer have a job offer you would have to find a new job offer or be withdrawn from the program.
2) As you are applying under the Skilled Worker category you can leave to your home country to wait for the decision of your application. You will want to update your address so you receive the decision your new address. You do not need a visitor status unless you plan to stay in Canada to wait for your decision, but you cannot work during this time.

Hi there,
I have a questions in regards to my current situation :
1) My IEC 2 year work visa expires on the 14th December 2014 my file number is SO-14-6113 applied under the skilled worker stream. Initially the wait time when I applied was 5-6 months but has since increased due to the large volume of applications. My current employer here in BC is willing to support my PR application and are extremely eager to hold the position for me but due to this extension in processing time it could be 5-6 months they would have to hold the position open, from the businesses point of view it is hard to make this guarantee. What do I need to do to ensure that my application is still valid at the time of processing?
2) Due to my visa expiring and this wait time I will need to head back to Australia as I cannot afford to be unemployed for potentially 5-6 months. Is there any issue in leaving the country to return home while this decision is made? I am unsure about how to retain a visitor status or even if I am required to if I am away for this amount of time?
