Hi All,

I have recently graduated from MSc at UBC. I have no work experience at all. I don't have job offer too.

Based on BC-PNP International Post Graduate requirements there are three main eligibility requirments;
1-an IRCC Express Entry profile number and a Job Seeker Validation Code that indicates you meet the eligibility criteria for one of the federal economic immigration programs subject to IRCC’s Express Entry system
2- a master’s or doctoral degree received within the past three years from an eligible program at a post-secondary institution in B.C.
3- ability and intent to live and work in B.C.

My question is to be eligible for 1 st requirement, should I have work experience at least one year?
Other question is my score is around 85, should I apply right away ?

Thank you so much.

Hi,

To be eligible for EE as a skilled worker, you need to have at least 1 year of full-time experience either in Canada or in a foreign country in the occupations listed in NOC 0 or A or B.
However, I think if you were a Research Assistant during your Master's and were being paid then you may claim that as your full-time experience from NOC 4012. But this might not add any points as Canadian work experience in your EE profile but you'll at least be an eligible EE candidate and that's all you need for BC PNP. I've read few posts where people said that they had successfully created EE profile and received the profile number. Plus you need language scores to create EE profile.

Give it a try if you haven't done it yet.

Good luck!

Since you are asking about international post graduate (Title) then your spouse doesn’t need a job offer as he completed a Master or PhD in applied or health sciences.

Sorry about that..He completed his 2 year diploma..so he is eligible for International graduate and not post graduate.
I believe job offer is required in that case?

If so Can he apply for BC PNP EE with a job offer dated August 2021(Job he is currently doing) or should it be recent??

International Graduate
Did you graduate with a valid credential from an eligible Canadian university or college within the last three years? The International Graduate stream may be an option to get permanent residence and stay in B.C.
Eligibility
To qualify for this stream, you must:
  • have completed a degree, diploma or certificate from an eligible post-secondary institution in Canada in the past three years
  • have accepted a job offer from a B.C. employer. The job must be classified as NOCTEER category 1, 2, or 3
    • management occupations (NOC TEER 0) are not eligible under this stream
  • be qualified to work in your occupation in B.C.
  • for NOC TEER 2 or 3 occupations, meet minimum language requirements
  • have a wage offer in line with B.C. wage rates for the occupation
  • show you can support yourself and your dependents
  • have, or be eligible for, legal immigration status in Canada

There are all these forms that the employer has to submit. Does the employer meet the requirements or have forms already been completed? When completing the forms to support the nomination, the employer will need to include a new offer dated for 2022.

That is good that employer is supportive, but they still need to be eligible and fill out all the forms. Some employers will not do that when they see what information they must provide.
