Hi guys. So I'm finally filling out my Express Entry profile, and I've come across a few minor questions. I'm wondering if someone can help me with these:

1) My Bachelors degree was awarded by a university which is based in City A, but I studied in a specific campus of this university which was physically located in a nearby city, City B. So when I'm filling out my education, do I mention City A as the "City/town of study", or do I mention City B instead ?

2) Again related to my Bachelors degree, the last semester of my program ended in April 2008 (as per my transcript), however my degree was awarded to me on 5th or 6th May 2008. So when I'm mentioning the end of this academic program, do I mean April 2008 as the end year and month, or May 2008 ?

3) I've also done a Masters in "Electrical & Computer Engineering" (as it says on my degree), however all courses I took were related to Computer Engineering, and my minor was in Computer Science. So should I choose "Computing/Information Technology" as my "Field of Study" from the drop down menu, as maybe choose "Other", or "Science, Applied", or "Sciences, General", or something else ?

4) In my Education History, if I've mentioned my Bachelors and Masters degrees there (both of which were assessed by WES), do I need to mention my secondary education (O and A Levels, which I did NOT get assessed) ?

Thanks in advance guys :)

City B where you studied.

Choose "Computing...".

Not required.

Thanks in advance guys :)

Thanks Asivad ! Also have two more questions:

1) For the "Date of test results" field for IELTS, do I mention the date that is mentioned on my IELTS certificate, or the date when I received the certificate in the mail (3 days later) ?

2) Some of the companies where I worked at are of the form "ABC Pvt Ltd", but then they also write their name as just "ABC" on many forms, etc. So is it okay if I can just write "ABC" as the company name where I worked, even if their registered name as a "Pvt Ltd" in it ?

Date on the certificate (TRF).

Put in the full legal name of the entity.

Thanks.

Also, a question related to work history: If I was at a job for multiple years during which I got promoted, should I have separate entries for my work history, for each different title, or can I combine them all into one and only mention my last and highest title at the company ? I went from Senior Software Engineer to Principal Software Engineer.

If your NOC never changed, have just 1 entry with your latest job title. If your NOC changed, have as many entries as the unique NOCs.

Thanks once again. I just submitted my EE profile. How do I see how many CRS points I've been given ?

Also, at one place you're asked to mention your Passport, National ID, or Travel documents info. I only put down my Passport info there, as I assumed CIC doesn't need my own country's National ID info. Is this okay, or should I go in and include my National ID info too ?

The system shows that information after you've created the profile. If you can't see it just yet, give it a few hours and check again. You can also check using the CRS tool which will give the same result ---> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Your passport itself is a national ID document, that should suffice.

But there are two entries in the dropdown:

Passport/travel document
National identity document

So I only made one entry using the first option above, and then entered my Passport details. Is that enough, or do I need to add my National ID card details too, using the second option ?

Can't recall the form exactly but if the second field is optional, leave it blank. Else fill the passport information again.

Hi All,

I have not mentioned My Higher secondary education while creating express entry profile, and have received ITA

while you are filling forms after getting ITA, study section automatically populated with the information provided in EE profile.
So is it ok if i add my High secondary education now as i haven't mentioned it when creating EE profile.

Note: This doesn't effect my score.

kindly advise on how to proceed with it.

Thanks

You can keep it out of your profile, it is irrelevant.

Hi DelPiero07,

Im little confused as it says We will assess XYZ's secondary and post-secondary periods of study for eligibility for Express Entry, and use them to calculate XYZ's score. You can tell us about each period of study by filling in the fields below.

still its ok not to mention secondary education, as i have not showed it in my EE profile

thanks,

Not including it doesn't affect your eligibility, that's why it is irrelevant to your application.
