Hi all!

I'm looking for job information about job prospects in banking field. My husband is branch manager in Spain and we are trying to relocate in Winnipeg or anywhere in Manitoba where he could find a job. We are still trying to get our immigration visa, but this is something that we are concern about. Is really impossible to get a similar job from the beggining, I mean branch manager, assistant branch manager etc.. Most people we have talked to, say he has to start from the bottom is it true??

Thanks!!

The best experience is to come here and try it out for yourself and most importantly share your experience in this forum. Otherwise no one will know

Hope to have my own experience soon, but in the meantime...I need to know about others. Is there anybody working in banking in Manitoba??
Thanks!

Nobody working in banking or related field in Manitoba?? please

Just a word of advice. Prepare for the worst as the most people you talked to are correct.

The vast majority of banking jobs are located in Toronto because this is where Canada's big banks all have their head-quarters. So yes - there are some people working in banking in Manitoba - but not as many as in other parts of the country.

I agree it's unlikely he will get a branch manager job right from the start (however anything is possible). He will likely have to start a few levels down.

Thanks so much scylla and mrbeachman for your response. We should have to face what future brings, that's all what we can do.
We know Toronto is the financial and banking Canadian capital, but our first choice is Manitoba. That's the reason why we need information about banking sector there.
We need to get this information from people who works in a credit union or a bank in Manitoba. They really know how things works from inside. I will really appreciate their information, somebody out there?
