Hi, within 2 days I am going to apply for study permit. And I have some probable issues with BANK STATEMENT.
-Yesterday my father has opened new bank account in China and put decent amount money right after he opened. I read that the bank account must be at least 4 months old but before we didn't have opportunity before like we have now. So will this be an issue for getting my visa, although we have sufficient funds?
-The other thing is Chinese banks don't write amount of money in CAD but in YUAN. Is it necessary to show available funds in Canadian Dollar?
-The last thing I want to ask, the bank machine gave my father Personal Certificate of Deposit showing the amount of funds, his account no, name etc (its not look like a letter) . Is it the same as bank statement ? Please help me with this by answering these questions!!!

Yes, it can be a problem. Do you not have other accounts? Regardless, you must show the source of these funds to demonstrate they are yours and not borrowed.

Not an issue.

I don't think this is the same as a bank statement, at least from your description.

Thank you! But we don't have other accounts what we should do then??

Can you wait for next term?

There is no required period for which a statement is required but 4 months is often recommended.

A newly opened account is sure an issue and given the deposit history of a decent funds deposited into it upon opening makes it looks very suspicious that the money is borrowed or the account was setup for the visa purpose even if its not..

You should look for another account
