just wanted to know if its ok to have a joint account with your parents and show the required money for visa application in it?

can someone assist?
 
yes.....its ok ......but get a bank certification letter

an affidavit from ur parents that you can use the money from that a/c towards immigartion purpose

It will NOT be accepted...
Whatever documentation u add to support that... there's nothing called 'funds sponsorship by the parents'... a PA is 'independent' of that support.
 
I have given up the will to live trying to find it in an Operational Manual, but here is the most official documentaiton I can find from a VO. Hope it helps.

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Acceptable proof of funds are:

-bank accounts in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-cashable investments in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-cashable fixed deposits in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

Not acceptable are:

-bank accounts in someone else's name;
-bank accounts which are joint in your name and someone else (other than your accompanying spouse/common-law partner);
-bank accounts in the name of your spouse who is not accompanying you to Canada;
-property valuations;
-vehicle valuations;
-jewellery valuations.

1. is public provident fund investment acceptable as fund proof?
2. is national security certificate acceptable as fund proof?
3. i s property in my name acceptable as fund proof?
 
Hi friends..the proof i provided as funds are fixed deposits which are on my name and joint with my two daughters ..both of them are included in application...but both are minors...now question is that it would be acceptable??

Yes. No issue as they will accompany you to canada.

If he is applying for FSW1 or FSW2 then parents cannot be included in the application and even the funds which he needs to show should be in his account, the only other options are joint account with spouse or children who will be included in the application. Even the accounts on spouse name can be included as well even if it is not a joint account. It is clearly mentioned in Operational manual.
