BAD Police Clearance Record

Hi Everyone,

I am currently residing in Toronto on a valid Work Permit. Recently I was alleged theft in a store and got an appearance date in Court in Toronto.

1) IF the case goes against me, will it affect my permanent Resident File in future ?
2) IF the case goes in my favor, will my name still stay in History of Police Clearance and Will it affect my Permanent Resident File in Future?

This is really important for me. Please acknowledge me as soon as Possible.

This is really important for me. Please acknowledge me as soon as Possible.

1. Yes, it probably will affect your PR application. It will not necessarily make them reject your application because they will try to find out the circumstances and so on leading to the conviction.

2. It may show as charged but found not guilty. In that case, it will not affect anything at all.

If I were you and I did something wrong, I would come clean in the court and face the consequences. This way I can show them my true realisation of the event and any such realisation always goes in favour of the person accepting the charges.

What did you steal???

1) I do not feel the CIC would reject your PR App.
2) Yes, it will stay in Police Records. Unlikely to affect your PR App.
