Question #7 on IMM 5669 asks to give full details of all of the secondary education you have had:

Firstly, does middle school (grades 7-9) count as post secondary?

And when asked to give the number of years of school you succesfully completed would we just put

6 for Elementary: for completing Grades 1-6 ????????

Middle School is not post-secondary, which refers to college or university years. Grades 7-9 are secondary education.

If you have no formal education beyond elementary school, then yes, it is 6 years.

What year of school did you complete? High school (secondary school) in Canada is usually years 9, 10, 11, and 12. So if you finished grade 8, you could put 8 for elementary, i.e., grades 1 - 8. Middle school or junior high school is years 7 - 9, but is not listed separately on the forms because in Canada the schools are not usually separated that way.
