My application has been in background check stage for more than two years. The office handling my application has told me not to ask for repeated updates and that they will contact me once the checks are completed. I want to know whether this prolonged check is a good sign in terms of application being successful? One of my friends who is already in Canada on PR told me they dont bother with someone for this long if they are going to reject an applicant. It may be pertinent to mention that I work for a federal law enforcement agency in my country and it may have something to do with the extensive checks they are performing.
