What is actually a background check? At what stage of the application it is done? Also is there a way to find out if CIC
did actually called ur employer and asked for your information.
the checks CHC usually performs to see if your educational background and experience is legitimate.
usually performed after you have submitted your full application to CHC and before CHC issues you a request for medicals.
of course CHC is not going to inform you that they called your employer. you can ask your employer to let you know as soon as they receive any call from CHC.
They not necessarily call your employer, they have other ways to verify the employment and that is what they do in Background check. If you receive the medical request then it usually means the background checks have been completed.

Current pay stubs, employment original letter, Tax returns documents for several years which covers the period you claimed in your application, references, verifying through their sources and not directly calling etc.
