My wife is a canadian citizen (naturalized)

We have a 25 days old baby born in Lahore Pakistan.

We want apply for my baby's proof of citizenship.

Heres the catch:
My wifes name on all canadian documents is (lets suppose): alvina nadeem hussain
But all her pakistani documents dont have the middle name, i.e just Alvina Hussain

Question 1: will it be an issue if the pakistani birth certificate of our baby lists my wife as Alvina Hussain instead of Alvina Nadeem Hussain?

Question 2: is it mandatory that we apply at the embassy/conselate nearest to our home?
We live in the city of karachi but our baby was born in the city of lahore and we are all in lahore since his birth for about another month. (My wifes mother lives here in lahore). Can we apply at the Lahore conselate? (not our home city)

Tell me,

1. Is nadeem her father's name or your name ?
2. if she is a canadian citizen, what kind of pakistani documents you are talking about ?
is it marriage certificate I believe ? or some other documents as well.

Answer to your Question 1.

On birth certificate you must use Alvina Hussain only.

Make a notary through the lawyer and write a name clarification on stamp paper. Lawyer know what should be the format of the declaration.

Answer to Question 2.

You can apply to any embassy. it does not matter where you live. It is only advisable to apply to the embassy nearest your convenient place so that if interview comes you can travel and go easily.

If you have any further question, please feel free to ask.

Thanks canadap

1. Nadeem is her fathera name. She and decided to keep her name unchanged after marriage.
2. She is a naturalized canadian citizen. But she is also a pakistami citizen by birth. The pakistani documents im talking about are the birth certificate of our son. And possibly our marriage certificate if its required.

Her canadian passport and citizenship certificate use alvina nadeem hussain. But pakistani borth crrtificate of our child lists her as only Alvina hussain.

The problem is that canadian application guides sah that the name on the application of proof of citizenship must match with the exact spellings. The name of of our child would match but my wifes name would be missing the middle name in the birth certificate.

Screenager,

If she has intentionally kept her father name then you should use alvina nadeem hussain as mother name on your birth certificate.

As far as your child's document is concerned if either you should use alvina hussain or alvina nadeem hussain all the time, do not mix up the name in different document or certificate whatever you get.

However, in this particular scenario, I will suggest you to call CIC and speak to an agent. Explain your situation and see what they say if mother name needs to change or not.

I do not think on child certificate, mother name should be as per mother's document.

Let me know, what CIC agent say.

Thanks
