Hi,

I am currently visiting my husband in Canada, he is a Canadian citizen.

I am a British Citizen. I have been given 6 moths to stay in Canada.

I have an application for permanent residence outside of canada currently in process.

I applied for an extension of stay as a visitor. The reason for extension is to stay with my husband while the PR is being processed.

I explained on the application that I have rental property at home and will be able to sustain myself for an additional 6 months.

My questions are:

1) How long will it take to get a response with regards to my extension as a visitor? (if link to cic website with this info can be provided i would be very grateful)

2) How likely is it that my application will be approved?

3) If it is denied will I be able to reapply?

4) Are the reasons I gave valid for an extension?

5) How many times can i reapply if it is initially approved?

Thank You for your help

1. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp
2. Pretty good.
3. You can re-apply, but if your status has expired you have to pay for restoration as well as the permit fee.
4. Yes, as that is what your intention is.
5. As many times as you wish, but if it is an outland through London, and there are no problems, you should have your PR in less than a year.
