Prior to my P.R interview, I have booked to travel to Dubai. This is 4 days after my P.R was confirmed.I was told by Immigration officer at my interview that my P.R card will arrive in 8 to 10 weeks time.
I am aware that some airline do not carry persons without P.R card but some like Ethiopian airline and Etihad airline do carry as long as you have your Traveling document and Protected person's document.
My question is can I travel with my Canada Refugee Traveling document with the protected person document. I am supposed to be back in 2 weeks.

As far as I know refugees are not allowed into the UAE unless they're married to a UAE citizen, otherwise your refugee travel document won't be recognized for entry, even if you managed to somehow get a visa. I'm not sure if they changed their laws, please confirm with the embassy. Therefore, entering the UAE as a refugee is not possible unless you are planning to use your home country passport to enter Dubai, which is not advisable as it may jeopardize your status in Canada.
To answer your main question, yes as a protected person holding a valid refugee travel document you do not need to carry your PR card with you to return to Canada.

Good luck!
